Bornfreund: Project Lead (Toronto)Marcus Bornfreund is the founding project lead for Creative Commons Canada and a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. He is presently affiliated with the Ontario College of Art & Design's new Strategic Innovation Lab. A steadfast supporter of strong civil liberties, Marcus is deeply committed to using technology to facilitate access to legal information and services.
Martha
Rans: Project Lead (Vancouver)Martha Rans has been practicing law since 1995 and has acted for artists in all disciplines including painting, photography, architecture, sculpture, textile, film and video, new media, animation, website and graphic design, theatre and dance. She regularly advises arts-related and other not-for-profit organizations on a wide range of legal issues including intellectual property, employment, labour, health & safety and privacy. Martha is the founder and current Legal Director of the Artists Legal Outreach at the Alliance for Arts, a volunteer-run community clinic providing access to legal information and advice for artists and arts organizations.
Olivier
Charbonneau: Project Lead (Montreal)Olivier Charbonneau is an Associate Librarian at Concordia University (Montréal). As a tenured faculty member, he is primarily interested in copyright issues as well as questions of open access and Web 2.0. He is a member of the Canadian Library Association’s Copyright Working Group, the International Federation of Library Association and Institutions' (IFLA) Copyright and Other Legal Matters Committee, as well as President of ASTED’s Comité sur le droit d’auteur and represents this national francophone library association on the Executive Council of the Public Lending Right Commission of Canada (Canada Council for the Arts). He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Maison de la poésie in Montréal. He holds a Masters in Law from the Université de Montreal and blogs at www.culturelibre.ca
